BREAKING: OHIO PPP OBAMA 50-39!

Ohio just shifted from -8 to +11 Obama in the latest PPP Poll:

Raleigh, N.C. – Barack Obama kicks off the general election with a 50-39 lead over John McCain in Ohio, according to the newest survey from Public Policy Polling.

It’s a significant change from PPP’s most recent previous Ohio survey, conducted in March, which found Obama trailing McCain 49-41 during the heart of the Jeremiah
Wright controversy.

There are some interesting nuggets in the newest PPP Poll for Ohio!

Strong lead in every category:

Obama leads by equal margins among men and women, and has a four point lead with white voters while also holding a dominant 75-21 advantage with African Americans.

How does Obama do in the Crosstabs?

Men: 50-40 Obama +10
Women: 49-39 Obama +10

AA: 75-21 Obama +54
White: 46-42 Obama +4

Age 18-29 - 46-45 Obama +1
Age 30-45 - 53-36 Obama +17
Age 46-65 - 53-35 Obama +18
Age 65+ 35-50 McCain +15

And the Unity question?  73% of Democrats and 10% of Republicans support Obama, while 83% of Republicans and 7% of Democrats support McCain.

Just as a bonus, how about the Republican seat that Voinovich holds?

PPP also found that Republican Senator George Voinovich could be vulnerable to a challenge in 2010 from Democratic Congressmen Tim Ryan and Betty Sutton.
